Design Guild SF is a collective studio where independent
designers and small firms from a variety of design disciplines
gather to share resources, ideas and inspiration. It’s
an office, a gallery, a workshop, and most of all it’s
a forum for our members to collaborate, unleash their creativity
and do their best work.
Our members
represent the disciplines of graphic, product and web design,
engineering, architecture, landscape architecture, illustration,
photography, fashion, sculpture and more. With the diverse
backgrounds of our members and our combined vendor and material
resources, there’s no design challenge we can’t
handle.
Through
the Design Guild SF Gallery we aim to promote local art
and design and to connect with the Bay Area community. Please
visit our gallery page for information on events.

YOU
ARE STR(O/A)NGER THAN YOU THINK YOU ARE
Exhibit: October 18 – November 18, 2009
Gallery Reception: Thursday, October 29, 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.

Howard Chambers and Ah Young Kim New Works on Paper
Explore the Resilience and Unique Power of the Mind in an Ever-Changing
World.
This collaborative series of new works reflects
the prevailing feeling of mental uncertainty and tension. The
subject matter investigates the elusive and intangible idea of
“spirit” and inner-knowing; examining the thinking
that we are all really just bundles of energy that affect one
another in both positive and negative ways.
In addition to the new prints on exhibit there will be a hope
tree which gallery visitors are encouraged to participate in by
adding their wishes to the hope tree.
Chambers and Young Kim intended for their art to be affordable
and most of these new works will be available for purchase for
under $100. Limited editions will be available, complete with
a custom logo of the ambiguous o/a stamped on each print.
