NEW TERRAIN : Works by mixed-media artist Brian Conery
Through the years Brian has worked in painting, drawing, mixed media, artist books and site specific installations. This exhibition marks his return to the local scene after a hiatus from public projects with a body of new work in this self-curated installation. Past projects have included: 2 exhibits in Russia including a collaboration with the now internationally known group AES+F, the ‘10 Mysteries’ works shown at 3 different California college galleries and more recently a site specific work ‘bookhouse’ in a house slated for tear down as well as participation in the 2011 open exchange with Sol Lewitt show at MASS MoCA.
The work in this show is a continuation of and builds upon the recent series ‘Locations’, exploring ‘the constructed subconscious’ through environments, structures, objects and images.
